Water technology major VA Tech WABAG has entered into an agreement with Al Jomaih Energy and Water (JENWA), a leading Saudi Arabia-based developer of energy and water projects in the Middle East, to address the growing demand for sustainable water solutions in the region.

Under the partnership, both Wabag and privately-owned JENWA will cooperate on various aspects, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), project development, and feasibility assessments for potential water projects.

The partnership with AEW is expected to provide Chennai-based VA Tech Wabag further access to the growing Middle East water infrastructure market, where the Indian company already has a grpwing presence.

A memorandum of understaning (MoU) to formalise the partnership was signed during the India-Saudi Investment Forum held on the sidelights of the G20 Summit in New Delhi.

“The MOU will help both the organisations in the development collaboration and exploring the feasibility of development and investment opportunities in water projects in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other geographies in the Middle East,” said VA Tech Wabag, Deputy Managing Director & Group CEO Pankaj Malhan.

“We feel that we have aligned ourselves with the strategy of KSA Vision 2030 and also help the country to achieve its sustainable goals,” said Malhan.

This collaboration will leverage the combined expertise of both organisations to tackle the pressing water challenges in the region.

JENWA will provide critical support related to local market intelligence, business development, and engagement with potential customers, off-takers, regulators, ministries, lenders, and suppliers in the region while VA Tech Wabag will contribute the technical and commercial expertise required for feasibility assessment and project development.
