Biopipe Global ties up with BVG India group to jointly market wastewater treatment solutions

Lifequest subsidiary Biopipe Global has signed teamed up with BVG India Limited, one of the largest integrated services companies in India, to market Biopipe’s wastewater treatment solutions in the country.

The two companies will pursue wastewater projects in both government and private sectors. With the Indian Government’s proposed investment to the tune of $6.1 billion to meet Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets for water and sanitation in the country, the two companies are particularly keen to focus on the government sector.

Biopipe has been slowly expanding its presence in the mid-sized wastewater treatment projects in India and across Asia and has bagged several projects in the private sector over the past one year in the country.

Biopipe is competing in a growing market for water and wastewater treatment projects as new orders emerge in various industrial sectors including food & beverages, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pulp & paper, power, metal & mining, textiles and oil & gas. Stringent government emission & regulations and increasing urbanization is also driving the growth across Asia.

The company will be able to leverage BVG India’s nationwide footprint and long experience in working with government tenders to create opportunities for Biopipe, said Biopipe COO Tanmay Pawale.

Biopipe said it has developed a patented 100 per cent sludge-free, chemical-free, odor-free, silent, easy to assemble and install, scalable, low cost, ecological and virtually maintenance-free onsite sewage wastewater treatment system. The system treats both grey and black water and the treated water exceeds EU and all local standards for discharge and can be reused for irrigation, flushing and cleaning.

“We have been working with Biopipe to develop a framework for pursuing government tenders through a special purpose vehicle. We have a long history of working with Central and state governments and we see a tremendous opportunity for the Biopipe system. We are in the process of finalizing a 500m3/day (132,000 gallons per day) plant, which will serve as the capstone project”, said BVG Clean Energy Ltd Director Dr Dattatray Gaikwad.

The BVG India group is engaged in facility management project and services, emergency response services, renewable energy and lighting. The Pune-based group also provides services like mechanised housekeeping, landscaping and gardening, logistics and transportation, solid waste management, sewage treatment and civil and electrical services.
